Calling all social enterprises!
Are you a social enterprise located in the City of neighbouring boroughs? Could you benefit from the expertise of a City business? City Action is expanding its service to harness the knowledge and skills of City businesses to support social enterprises in addition to charities and schools that it has traditionally supported. If you would like to find out more then please get in touch to find out more.
Community membership
City Action is currently only recruiting social enterprises. Unfortunately we are not in the position to recruit charities. We will however, be reviewing this in the spring and you are invited to check back in with us then to see whether we will be able to promote your support needs.
Please see below for the types of organisations we work with and the benefits of being a City Action community partner.
City Action works with community organisations based in the City or City-fringe boroughs (Camden, Hackney, Islington, Lambeth, Southwark, Tower Hamlets and Westminster) that are directly involved in supporting their local community.

Liquidnet & Sotheby Mews Day Centre
Liquidnet Europe Limited, a small asset management business, joined City Action following attendance on a Community Tour to Islington in June 2010. One of the community organisations visited was Age Concern Islington’s Sotheby Mews Day Centre, with whom Liquidnet have chosen to support a variety of social events for local older people.
Colt and Friendship Works
Colt have been building their CSR programme from scratch since 2009. Selecting a charity partner was one aspect of setting up their community programme - the other aspect was introducing an employee volunteering policy which they introduced at the end of 2009. Colt operates in 14 countries and in 2009 each country was asked to work with its employees to select a charity partner for the next two years.
